Paperwork collection for vehicle leases renewed
The FMCSA is renewing its approval to collect information through an Information Collection Request titled "Lease and Interchange of Vehicles." If you are a carrier that leases vehicles, the agency will continue to collect paperwork documenting leases and interchange activity when the ICR is submitted to OMB for review and approval.
Formal lease requirement for carriers
The regulations require certain for-hire property carriers and certain for-hire and private passenger carriers to have a formal written lease when leasing equipment from other motor carriers. If you operate a carrier that leases equipment, you must maintain a formal lease under these rules.
