Local flood maps and zones changed
FEMA updated flood hazard determinations for specific communities by changing Base Flood Elevations (BFEs), base flood depths, Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) boundaries or zone designations, or the regulatory floodway on the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and, where applicable, the Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports. These map changes were made through a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) because of new scientific or technical data. If you live or own property in the listed communities, your official flood zone and mapped water levels may now be different, which can change how flood risk is determined for your property.
Use updated community number for policies
The notice says the current effective community number (shown in FEMA’s table for the listed communities) must be used for all new flood insurance policies and renewals. If your property is in one of the listed communities, insurers and policyholders must use that updated community number when issuing or renewing coverage.
