Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Free Online Chemical Hazard Info

MSHA proposes revising 30 CFR part 47 so miners can view all Hazard Communication (HazCom) materials online at no cost. You would be able to access information about the chemical hazards where you work without needing paper copies.

Reduced Paperwork Burden for Operators

MSHA proposes allowing electronic access to HazCom materials, which would reduce paperwork burdens for mine operators by cutting the need for paper-based distribution and recordkeeping. Operators would be able to provide required chemical hazard information electronically instead of maintaining paper copies.
