ARMS Phase 3 Survey Updates for Farmers
The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) proposes substantive updates to the Agricultural Resource Management Survey (ARMS) Phase 3 questionnaires for Cotton, Broilers, Hogs, and the Cost and Return Report. The collection lists 43,817 respondents, a reporting frequency of annually and monthly, and a total estimated burden of 70,556 hours; comments are due by August 18, 2025.
Race/Ethnicity Responses Use Minimal Categories
NASS will use a minimal category version of the ARMS Phase 3 questionnaire that does not include examples for each of the seven main race/ethnicity categories. This change affects respondents who answer race/ethnicity questions on the survey and is part of the proposed substantive changes open for comment by August 18, 2025.
