Some 2022–2025 Peterbilt/Kenworth Trucks Noncompliant

PACCAR told NHTSA that certain model year 2022–2025 Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks do not fully meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 121 for air brake systems. PACCAR filed a noncompliance report on December 17, 2024, amended it on January 14, 2025, and petitioned NHTSA on January 9, 2025, asking for a finding that the noncompliance is inconsequential to safety.

No Owner Recalls or Costs While Review Pending

The notice states that no recalls or costs for owners are expected while NHTSA reviews PACCAR's petition that the noncompliance is inconsequential. That review follows PACCAR's petition filed January 9, 2025, and the noncompliance report dated December 17, 2024 (amended January 14, 2025).
