SEIS Addresses Court-Ordered Issues
FERC prepared a final supplemental environmental impact statement (final SEIS) to address the U.S. Court of Appeals' August 6, 2024 opinion that remanded FERC's April 21, 2023 approval of the Rio Grande LNG Terminal and Rio Bravo Pipeline. The final SEIS assesses impacts on communities with environmental justice concerns, explains the use of a particular air quality monitor in the air analysis, and evaluates a carbon capture and sequestration proposal.
Public Access and Participation Tools
The final SEIS is available only in electronic format on FERC's website and via the eLibrary (use docket numbers CP16-454, CP16-455, or CP20-481 to search). FERC mailed notices to federal, state, and local officials and potentially affected landowners, and the Commission's Office of Public Participation can help landowners, Tribal members, and community organizations access the SEIS and file interventions, comments, or rehearing requests (OPP phone: (202) 502-6595; eSubscription registration at https://www.ferc.gov/ferc-online/overview).
