Options Allowed on Rule 6c-11 ETFs
If you have investments, Cboe can now list and trade options on exchange-traded funds (ETF Shares) that qualify under SEC Rule 6c-11. The Exchange filed the change on August 5, 2025 and the SEC made it operative upon filing, so options on these ETFs can commence trading immediately under the new listing standard.
Existing Rules and Surveillance Apply
Options on these ETF Shares will trade under the Exchange's existing options rules and surveillance program and remain subject to position limits (Exchange Rule 8.30). The SEC noted the change became operative upon filing (filed August 5, 2025) and may summarily suspend the rule within 60 days if needed.
