Ten‑Year Export Ban for Named Individual

Jose Guadalupe Mejia was denied all export privileges for a 10‑year period tied to his June 11, 2024 conviction. The Order bars him from directly or indirectly participating in any transaction involving items subject to the Export Administration Regulations from the date of this Order until June 11, 2034.

Revocation of Any BIS Licenses Held

Any Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) licenses or authorizations in which Mejia had an interest at the time of his conviction are revoked. That revocation takes effect as part of the Order denying his export privileges.

Broad Ban on Others Transacting With Denied Person

The Order prohibits any person from exporting, reexporting, transferring to or on behalf of Mejia, or from taking actions that facilitate his acquisition, ownership, possession, or control of items subject to the Regulations. It also bars obtaining items from Mejia when there is knowledge they will be exported.

Order Can Reach Related Companies To Prevent Evasion

The Order states that any firm, corporation, or business organization related to Mejia by ownership, control, position, affiliation, or other connection in trade may also be made subject to the Order to prevent evasion. This means related entities could also face the same export restrictions.
