Airlines must replace unplated landing pins
The FAA requires operators of Airbus SAS Model A318, A319, A320, and A321 series airplanes to replace affected main landing gear (MLG) aft pintle pins from a batch that did not have nickel plating applied to the inner bore. The rule also prohibits installing those affected parts and therefore creates required repair work and costs for aircraft operators.

This airworthiness directive applies to all Airbus A318, A319, A320, and A321 series airplanes and addresses an unsafe condition where a batch of MLG aft pintle pins lacked nickel plating on the inner bore.
