The U.S. has opened antidumping and countervailing duty investigations into fresh mushrooms from Canada (HTS subheading 0709.51.01) to see if imports are sold below fair value or subsidized by Canada. If the investigations find injury to a U.S. industry, extra duties could be added to those imports. The Commission must reach a preliminary decision by October 31, 2025 and send its views to Commerce by November 7, 2025.
Canadian Mushroom Imports May Face New Duties
Imports of fresh mushrooms from Canada (HTS subheading 0709.51.01) are under investigation for being sold at less than fair value and for receiving Canadian government subsidies. If those allegations are sustained, extra taxes (antidumping or countervailing duties) could be imposed on those imports, affecting Canadian exporters and U.S. importers. The Commission's preliminary determination is due October 31, 2025 and its views are due to Commerce by November 7, 2025.
