Pipeline Plastic Pipe Standard Update
If you work with pipelines, you must follow the updated Plastic Pipe Institute (PPI) Technical Report TR-3 starting July 1, 2025. PHMSA incorporated TR-3 into 49 CFR part 192, so pipeline operators and workers need to update materials and plans to meet the new testing and rating rules, which the agency says keeps operations safer without extra costs right now.
