Meeting dates, times, and location
The National Assessment Governing Board's quarterly meeting is scheduled for November 20, 2025 (9:45 a.m.–3:00 p.m. ET) and November 21, 2025 (8:45 a.m.–12:30 p.m. ET) at the Hilton Arlington National Landing, 2399 Richmond Highway, Arlington, VA 22202. Virtual attendance registration deadline
If you want to join the open sessions virtually, you must register in advance: a registration link will be posted on www.nagb.gov no later than five (5) business days prior to each meeting, and registration is required to join virtually. Plan to register by that five-business-day deadline before the meeting dates.
Deadline for written public comments
Written comments related to the November 20-21, 2025 Governing Board meeting must be submitted no later than close of business on November 13, 2025, either by email to the Designated Federal Officer or in hard copy to the address listed in the notice. Include the relevant agenda item when you submit comments.
Requests for reasonable accommodations
If you need an auxiliary aid or service (for example, interpreting, assistive listening, or materials in an alternate format) to participate, notify the Designated Federal Officer by close of business on November 13, 2025. Certain sessions closed to public
Some sessions are closed to the public: the Nominations Committee will meet in closed session on November 21, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. (personal privacy matters); the Board will meet in closed session on November 20, 2025, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. to receive an update on the NAEP budget and 2026 administration (confidential budget/procurement information); and on November 21, 2025, from 9:55 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. to discuss secure Long-Term Trend assessment content.
Meeting records and transcript availability
Official verbatim transcripts of the open meeting sessions will be available for public inspection no later than 30 calendar days following each meeting and will be posted on the Governing Board's website. Members of the public can also inspect meeting materials and other records by scheduling an appointment via the DFO email address.
