Washington Channel Closed for Fireworks

On December 6, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the Coast Guard will enforce a safety zone that closes portions of the Washington Channel in the Upper Potomac River at The Wharf, Washington, DC, for a fireworks display. During that time, vessels may not enter, remain in, or transit the safety zone unless authorized by the Captain of the Port (COTP) or the COTP’s representative, and vessels nearby must follow directions from the Patrol Commander or any Official Patrol displaying a Coast Guard ensign.
