New UAS Hazardous-Materials Guidance
On November 19, 2025 the FAA and PHMSA published joint guidance for transporting hazardous materials by unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). The guidance applies to 14 CFR part 135 UAS applicants and certificate holders and bases authorization decisions on the weight, amount, and type of hazardous material and on the characteristics of the UAS operations. Stakeholders may submit written comments on the guidance by December 19, 2025.
