Summary
Starting January 1, 2026, banks and credit unions will see updated numbers for reserve requirement exemptions, with the exemption amount rising to $39.2 million and the low reserve tranche to $674.1 million. Even though these numbers go up, reserve requirements stay at zero, so no extra money needs to be held back. This update keeps things official and on track with the law, effective December 24, 2025.
