VGBA Safety Requirements Enforced

The VGBA requires public pools and spas to have drain covers and anti-entrapment devices that meet the CPSC-recognized performance standard (15 U.S.C. Ch. 106; 16 CFR part 1450). CPSC inspects pools directly or through State-contracted employees to verify compliance using the VGBA form.

Continuation of VGBA Inspection Form

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is renewing the Virginia Graeme Baker (VGBA) Verification of Compliance form used to record pool and spa inspections. CPSC estimates 50 inspections per year, 3 hours each (150 total hours) and an annual cost of $11,468 based on $76.45 per hour; comments on the renewal are due February 17, 2026.
