Analyzed Economic Effects
3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.
Contractors Must Keep Records Available
If you are a government contractor or business owner, you must continue to make records, books, and other data available for examination and audit by the Comptroller General or authorized representatives. The information collection is approved through April 30, 2026, and the agencies propose extending approval for three more years; the agencies report 16,474 respondents, 52,344 annual responses, and 52,344 total annual burden hours.
No New Recordkeeping Requirement
The agencies state this information collection does not require contractors to create or maintain any record they do not already keep in the ordinary course of business. That means businesses are not being asked to start new record systems as part of this extension.
Comptroller General May Interview Employees
Under the referenced FAR clauses, the Comptroller General or an authorized representative may examine pertinent records and interview any current employee about transactions related to the contract or modification. This inspection and interview authority is part of the continued information collection the agencies seek to extend.
