FR 28 Forms Extended and Updated
If you apply for a job at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, you will use the revised FR 28 application forms beginning February 11, 2026. The FR 28a can be completed online in two parts or as a PDF; the Board estimates 32,600 FR 28a (Initial Application) respondents and a total estimated annual burden of 21,143 hours across all FR 28 forms.
New Questions and Reference Check Added
The revised forms add and change data fields: FR 28i (Research Assistant Application) adds eight new data fields and removes one, FR 28c (Pre-Hire Conflict of Interest Screening) adds a new section and updates questions to include financial assets, and a new Reference Check Form (FR 28r) is being added. These changes become effective February 11, 2026 and change what information applicants must provide when applying to the Board.
