No‑fault vaccine compensation system
The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program provides a no-fault system to compensate certain people who were injured by specific vaccines. The Program is authorized under Subtitle 2 of Title XXI of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 300aa-10 et seq.) and refers to the Vaccine Injury Table at 42 CFR 100.3.
Claims beyond the Table allowed
You may file a petition for compensation not only for conditions listed in the Vaccine Injury Table but also for conditions not listed or for conditions with symptom onset outside the Table time periods if you show the vaccine caused the condition. The notice cites that compensation may be awarded in those non-Table or out-of-time cases when causation is established.
Opportunity to submit written information
The special masters will allow interested persons to submit written information relevant to each petition, including evidence that an injury was not caused by the vaccine or information supporting non-Table or out-of-time claims.
