Recordkeeping and Reporting Burden

USDA is renewing an information collection (OMB Control Number 0584-0447) that requires state agencies, farmers, farmers' markets, roadside stands, CSA programs, businesses, and nonprofits to collect and maintain records for authorization and monitoring, participant certification, nutrition education, farmer authorization, training, monitoring, management, and financial and participation data. The notice lists 2,277,011 respondents with 1,762,825 total burden hours and also lists 120,710 respondents with 46,823 total burden hours.

Senior Farmers' Market Benefits

The Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides eligible seniors with benefits to purchase local produce at farmers' markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture (CSA) programs.

WIC Farmers' Market Produce Access

The WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) provides fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables through farmers' markets and roadside stands to WIC participants, including low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum participants, infants, and children up to 5 years of age.

Public Comment Opportunity

The Department of Agriculture is requesting public comments on this information collection; comments will be considered if received by February 26, 2026.
