EPA Reviewing New Herbicide for Many Crops

The EPA has received applications from Bayer CropScience for a new active ingredient, icafolin-methyl, and several formulations received June 27, 2025, that are proposed for use on crops including canola, cereals (wheat, barley, rye, triticale, quinoa, oats), citrus, field corn (grain and silage), grapes, pome fruit, stone fruit, soybeans, pulses, popcorn, and many tree nuts. The Agency is soliciting public comment on these applications and says comments must be received on or before February 27, 2026; the notice also states that receipt of applications does not imply EPA approval.
