CGA authorized to use 2.64 miles

If you operate or ship goods at Plant McIntosh, the Georgia-Pacific facility, or the Georgia International Rail Park in Georgia, the Central of Georgia Railroad Company (CGA) is now authorized to run trains over about 2.64 miles of Southern Electric Railroad Company track (Trackage Segments A–D). The exemption allows CGA to operate line‑haul service, switching, and make or break trains to or from those points, and the transaction may be consummated on or after February 14, 2026.

Rail employees receive labor protections

If you are a railroad employee affected by CGA's acquisition of these trackage rights, you will be protected by the labor conditions set in Norfolk & Western Railway—Trackage Rights—Burlington Northern, Inc., 354 I.C.C. 605 (1978), as modified in Mendocino Coast Railway—Lease & Operate—California Western Railroad, 360 I.C.C. 653 (1980). Those protections apply to employees affected by the acquisition of the trackage rights in this action.
