Job Corps allotment form stays short

The Department of Labor is proposing a revision to the Job Corps Enrollee Allotment Determination information collection (Form ETA 658, OMB Control Number 1205-0030) to reduce paperwork and respondent burden. The collection is for Job Corps students with dependents who want to request allotments for beneficiary children; DOL estimates 750 respondents, at about 3 minutes per response (37.5 annual burden hours). Comments are requested by April 13, 2026.

Lower enrollment and background-check pause

DOL says Job Corps has not fully regained typical enrollment after the pandemic and a temporary pause on background checks further delayed new enrollments, which reduced the number of participants eligible for allotments. As a result, the estimated number of respondents for this collection has been adjusted to 750.
