Monkfish Research May Inform Rules
On March 13, 2026 at 9 a.m. EST, a Scientific and Statistical Committee Subpanel will review new research on standardized monkfish catch-per-unit-effort (CPUE) indices developed by the Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen's Alliance, UMass Dartmouth, and the Northeast Fisheries Science Center. The subpanel's recommendations may be brought to the full Council and could inform future monkfish stock assessments and management measures.
