Toolkit to Make Disaster Plans Inclusive
The National Council on Disability (NCD) will create a toolkit to help state, local, territorial, and tribal (SLTT) governments make emergency management plans that include people with disabilities. The toolkit will share promising practices, examples, and templates so people with disabilities are safer before, during, and after disasters.
Toolkit Will Point SLTTs to Federal Programs
The toolkit will highlight federal programs that SLTTs can use when building inclusive emergency management plans and will provide SLTT examples and templates to incorporate into their planning. This aims to help governments use existing federal resources to better serve people with disabilities during disasters.
