New Pell Grants for Workforce Students

If you are a student in certain workforce training programs, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (signed July 4, 2025) established a new type of academic program in which eligible students can receive Federal Pell Grants. To make programs eligible, the Department will collect, review, and maintain information about those Eligible Workforce Programs as part of the revised application.

Workforce Programs Added to Application

If you run a college or training program that applies to participate in Federal Student Aid programs, the Department of Education is revising the application (OMB control number 1845-0012) to add fields for Eligible Workforce Programs. The agency estimates 4,248 annual responses and 16,097 annual burden hours and is accepting public comments through June 9, 2026.
