Four Animal Drugs Authorized for Screwworm

The FDA issued four Emergency Use Authorizations (EUAs) that let four animal drugs be used to prevent or treat New World screwworm infestations in animals. The EUAs cover Ivomec (ivermectin) (issued February 5, 2026), NexGard (afoxolaner) and NexGard COMBO (esafoxolaner, eprinomectin, praziquantel topical solution) (issued February 18, 2026), and F10 Antiseptic Wound Spray with Insecticide (benzalkonium chloride, polyhexanide, cypermethrin topical solution) (issued March 10, 2026). These authorizations apply to cattle, dogs, cats, horses, minor hoof stock (for example sheep, goats, deer), raptors and other wild birds, pet birds, and captive wild, exotic, and zoo mammals, and make the products available for emergency use starting on those dates.
