DOT issued Order 2026-1-24 rescinding the May 15, 2019 order, and agencies are coordinating with carriers to restore service.
Caracas Airport Cleared for Service
TSA conducted an assessment at Maiquetía 'Simón Bolívar' International Airport (CCS) on February 22–24, 2026 and concluded that sufficient security measures have been implemented at CCS to commence commercial flight operations from the United States to CCS. TSA is working with Venezuela's INAC and carriers to address recommendations and enable service.

On March 19, 2026, the U.S. Department of State changed its travel advisory for Venezuela from 'Level 4: Do Not Travel' to 'Level 3: Reconsider Travel.' DHS and TSA considered this change as part of their threat and security assessments supporting re-establishment of flights.
