Third-Party Test Administrator Fee

If you take the EA SEE, the contractor that administers the exam charges a separate fee you must pay directly. For the May 2026–February 2027 testing period the contractor's fee is $251 per part (it was $168 per part for May 2025–February 2026 and is $211 per part for May 2029–February 2030), and this is in addition to the IRS $66 per-part fee.

IRS EA Exam Fee Reduced

If you plan to take the Enrolled Agent Special Enrollment Examination (EA SEE), the IRS user fee for each part is reduced from $99 to $66 per part effective April 20, 2026. The $66 fee pays for the IRS’s oversight and is charged in addition to any fees the exam administrator (contractor) charges.
