Serving Is Unpaid; Travel Reimbursed

If you serve on the EFAB, you will serve without compensation but may receive travel and per diem allowances where appropriate and in accordance with Federal travel regulations. Appointments to the Board will be announced on June 22, 2026.

Member Time and Term Commitment

If appointed, Board members typically contribute approximately 3 to 8 hours per month, attend about two full Board meetings each calendar year (in-person or virtual), and may serve a two- or three-year term. The EFAB may also hold additional virtual workgroup meetings during the year to complete its charge.

Financial Disclosure for SGE Appointees

Candidates invited to serve as Special Government Employees (SGEs) must submit the Confidential Financial Disclosure Form for SGEs (EPA Form 3110-48) so EPA can determine statutory conflicts or appearances of loss of impartiality. The form is available at the EFAB webpage, but nominees should not submit it with their nomination package.
