Antitrust Protection for Nuclear Firms
If your company joins the DOE voluntary agreement and its Plans of Action, you get a defense against antitrust lawsuits for actions taken within those plans. The Assistant Attorney General issued a finding on April 17, 2026 under 50 U.S.C. 4558(f)(1)(B), and the plans may become effective after this notice was published on April 23, 2026.
Consortium Covers Full Nuclear Fuel Chain
DOE's revised Voluntary Agreement creates a consortium of domestic nuclear energy companies organized into three Plans of Action: POA Committee #1 Material Sufficiency (Mining & Milling, Conversion, and Enrichment), POA Committee #2 Market-Integrated Fuel Utilization (Fabrication & Deconversion, Recycling & Reprocessing, and Reactors), and POA Committee #3 Human Mobilization (Workforce Development, Supply Chain, and Economics & Finance). The consortium will allow consultation to discuss and implement methods to enhance management of spent nuclear fuel and to help ensure continued reliable operation of existing and future nuclear reactors.
