3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.

Volunteer Appointment: No Pay, Travel Covered

If you are appointed to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, you will serve as a volunteer and will not receive pay. Members do receive support for travel to attend three in-person two-day meetings each year in the Washington, DC area (or may attend virtually) and should expect to spend about 250 hours a year on Task Force duties.

Conflict-Of-Interest Disclosure Requirement

If you are under serious consideration for USPSTF membership, AHRQ will ask you to provide detailed information about financial holdings, consultancies, non-financial scientific interests, and research grants or contracts. Applicants must have no substantial conflicts of interest that would impair the scientific integrity of the USPSTF work and must be willing to complete regular disclosures.

Opportunity To Shape National Prevention Guidance

Serving on the USPSTF lets members help develop and update evidence-based recommendations about clinical preventive services (for adults and children) that aim to improve health nationwide. Nominations are sought from many clinical specialties and experts in fields such as health economics and rural medicine.
