Short MCBS 'Pulse' Surveys for Beneficiaries

You could be asked to respond to a new MCBS “Pulse” survey if you are a Medicare beneficiary. CMS plans for 31,117 respondents and 31,117 annual responses, with a total estimated burden of 1,026 hours; each Pulse survey will contain no more than five questions and will be fielded for up to two weeks within existing MCBS rounds (three rounds per year, each about 16 weeks).

Public Comments Due June 1, 2026

You can submit written comments on CMS's proposed information collection at https://www.reginfo.gov/public/do/PRAMain; comments must be received by the OMB desk officer by June 1, 2026. There is no monetary cost to comment—only your time to submit feedback about burden estimates, question utility, or collection methods.
