Possible Duties on Imported Air Compressors
The U.S. has opened antidumping and countervailing duty investigations into air compressors from China, Malaysia, and Vietnam (HTSUS 8414.80.16). If investigators find imports are dumped or subsidized, extra duties (taxes) could be imposed on those imports; a preliminary determination is due by June 15, 2026 and the Commission must transmit its views by June 23, 2026.
U.S. Manufacturers May Get Trade Relief
A petition filed April 30, 2026 by MAT Industries prompted these investigations to determine whether U.S. producers are materially injured by allegedly dumped or subsidized air compressors from China, Malaysia, and Vietnam. If material injury is found, duties could be imposed to protect U.S. industry from unfairly priced imports.
