Investigations Could Lead to Import Taxes
On May 7, 2026 the U.S. International Trade Commission started antidumping and countervailing duty investigations into imports of N-Cyclohexylbenzothiazole-2-sulfenamide ("CBS") from China to see if they are sold below fair value or subsidized. If those imports are found to be unfairly priced or subsidized, extra import duties (taxes) could be applied to protect U.S. companies. The Commission must make a preliminary determination by June 22, 2026 and transmit its views to the Department of Commerce by June 29, 2026.
