New Approach and Takeoff Procedures
If you are a pilot or airport operator, you must follow amended, suspended, or removed Standard Instrument Approach Procedures (SIAPs), Takeoff Minimums, and Obstacle Departure Procedures effective May 13, 2026. Each procedure’s specific compliance date is given in the amendatory provisions and some amendments are effective at 0901 UTC on the dates specified. The rule states there is no extra cost involved.
No Significant Small-Business Cost
The FAA certifies this amendment will not have a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities under the Regulatory Flexibility Act. The agency also states the anticipated economic impact is minimal and the rule is not a "significant regulatory action."
SIAPs Available Free Online
All SIAPs and Takeoff Minimums and ODPs are available online free of charge; you can register at the National Flight Data Center (nfdc.faa.gov) to access them. Individual copies may also be obtained from the FAA Air Traffic Organization Service Area that covers the affected airport.
