Summary
The EPA is giving a thumbs-up to Indiana’s updated plan for tracking and reporting nitrogen oxide (NOX) pollution from big factories that aren’t power plants. This change helps Indiana follow clean air rules and starts on June 15, 2026. It mainly affects large industrial sites and keeps pollution in check without adding new costs.

Indiana Allows Alternative NOX Monitoring
The EPA approved Indiana's change to let large non-EGU industrial sites use alternative monitoring, reporting, and recordkeeping instead of the 40 CFR part 75 methods for the NOX SIP Call. This approval for large non-EGUs in Indiana takes effect June 15, 2026, and the EPA says the change may reduce monitoring costs while not changing the NOX emissions budgets or emission limits.
No Significant Small-Entity Cost Finding
The EPA certified that this approval "is certified as not having a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities" under the Regulatory Flexibility Act. That certification applies to this Indiana SIP approval and is part of the EPA's final action effective June 15, 2026.
