3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Voluntary Revocation Form Renewed

If you are a for-hire motor carrier, freight forwarder, or property broker, FMCSA renewed the information collection (Form OCE-46) that lets you voluntarily revoke all or part of your operating authority. The renewal keeps the existing process in place, with no new fees or major changes, and the form’s OMB control number is 2126-0018 (expiration December 31, 2026).

Estimated Industry Burden And Cost Reductions

FMCSA estimates annual filings of Form OCE-46 fell from 8,699 to 5,712 (a decrease of 2,987 responses). That change reduces annual respondent burden hours by 747 and lowers estimated annual industry labor cost to $49,012 (a decrease of $18,175). Annual non-labor respondent costs decreased by $8,177, and Federal program costs decreased by $14,513.

Mail Filers Still Face Notarization/Postage Costs

Although an online submission option exists, FMCSA estimates about 1,517 respondents (approximately 27% of the total) will continue to file Form OCE-46 by mail and will incur notarization and postage fees when they do.
