Required Paperwork for Poultry Imports
If you import live poultry, poultry meat, or other poultry products, APHIS requires you to provide reports that the poultry have been offered for importation, health certificates, certificates of origin, maintain records, enter cooperative service agreements, and provide certificates for shipment back to the United States. APHIS is asking OMB (Control No. 0579-0228) to approve these information collection activities for an additional 3 years, and comments are being accepted through July 13, 2026.
Estimated Time Burden for Respondents
APHIS estimates the paperwork will average 1.0 hour per response and that there are 4,272 respondents with an average of 17 responses per respondent, for a total of 74,650 responses and 74,653 annual burden hours. The respondents listed include foreign animal health authorities; importers of live poultry, poultry meat, and other poultry products; pet bird owners; and zoological facilities.
