Paperwork Burden on Farms
If you operate a farm or a for-profit farm business, you may be asked to complete the Agricultural Resource Management Survey (ARMS) Phase 3. The notice estimates an average of 49,417 respondents annually and a total of 76,175 burden hours each year, with responses collected annually.
Survey Data Help Set Grazing Fees
Data from the ARMS surveys are used to develop the Prices Paid Index, which is used to calculate annual federal grazing fee rates under the Public Rangelands Improvement Act of 1978 and Executive Order 12548 (and regulations at 36 CFR 222.51). If you graze livestock on federal rangelands, the survey data help inform those annual grazing fee calculations.
