AIP handbook updated for 2018 & 2024 laws
Airports, State Block Grant Program states, consultants, and contractors that rely on federal Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funding will see a revised AIP Handbook that reflects legal and policy changes since 2017, including the FAA Reauthorization Acts of 2018 and 2024. The draft Order 5100-38E will replace Order 5100-38D, Change 1 (issued February 26, 2019).
Handbook streamlined; guidance moved online
The FAA will streamline the Handbook, eliminate redundancies, and relocate material from Order 5100-38D, Change 1 that is not needed in the Order to applicable sections on the FAA website. This changes where and how airports, consultants, and contractors find AIP implementation guidance and could alter administrative practices for project sponsors and firms.
