Visitor rights for Medicare hospital patients
Hospitals that take Medicare would need written visitor rules. They would have to tell you your visitation rights and any medical limits. With your consent, you could choose your visitors, including a spouse, family member, or friend, and change your mind at any time. Hospitals could not deny visitors because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, or disability. If enacted, these requirements would start upon enactment.
