Allow Medicaid Buy-In past age 65
This bill would remove the age cap for Medicaid Buy-In for working adults with disabilities. If enacted, people 65 and older who meet the Buy-In rules could qualify in states that offer it. You would still need to meet disability, work, and any state income or asset rules. The change would start on the date of enactment.
State grace period for Buy-In changes
This bill would give states a temporary safe harbor to adjust to the Buy-In changes. If a state already covered these Buy-In groups on the enactment date, it would not be treated as out of compliance until January 1, 2027. This would help keep people’s coverage steady while systems are updated. The safe harbor would start upon enactment and only applies to those states.
