Help coordinating community cancer care for veterans
If enacted, VA would place a Regional Breast and Gynecologic Cancer Care Coordinator in each region within one year. Veterans would qualify if they have breast or gynecologic cancer (or a precancer) and are using community care at a non‑VA facility under 38 U.S.C. 1703. The coordinator would link your VA clinicians and community cancer doctors, check on you based on need, and record your care and outcomes. They would share emergency steps, including telling VA within 72 hours after non‑VA ER care, and offer mental health resources. VA would set regions and, within three years, report to Congress on outcomes, timeliness, and patient safety for this care.
VA pension limit extended to Sept 2032
This bill would move a VA pension limit date from November 30, 2031 to September 30, 2032. If your pension is limited under 38 U.S.C. 5503, that limit would apply for a longer time. The change would take effect upon enactment.
