Paid wild horse fertility work for veterans
If enacted, BLM would run on-range fertility control using humane, reversible vaccines. The agency would recruit military veterans for training and certification, including the PZP program from the Science and Conservation Center. Veterans in training would get paid. After certification, BLM could hire you as a contractor to apply the vaccines. Contractors would not be federal employees.
Immediate steps to reduce wild horse and burro herds
If enacted, BLM would have to act right away to cut herds or remove excess animals. It would follow the law’s set order of steps. It would keep acting until herds reach appropriate levels or excess animals are removed.
