Working Families Task Force would launch
If enacted, Labor would set up a national Working Families Task Force within 90 days. It would have at least 10 members from Labor, HHS, Education, HUD, Commerce, Treasury, Transportation, Agriculture, and SBA. It must meet at least once each quarter, and two‑thirds of members would make a quorum. The group would study costs facing families, jobs and child care, and key tax credits: child tax, child and dependent care, and the earned income tax credit. It would also assess health care, housing, transportation, food, internet, energy, and inflation, and create a way to track how unemployment, inflation, GDP, and monetary policy affect affordability. Within 180 days, it would send a public report to key House and Senate committees, list experts consulted, include meeting minutes, and post the report online.
