Justice for America’s Veterans and Survivors Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Representative Edwards
In Committee
Summary
This bill creates an annual report on causes of death among veterans. It requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to submit a yearly report to the House and Senate Committees on Veterans' Affairs that lists every veteran who died during the period, notes whether each had a service‑connected disability rated as total, and records the primary cause of death and any secondary cause. The report must also state whether a veteran died by suicide secondary to a total service‑connected disability and give totals for each primary cause. The new requirement is added to title 38 as section 534.
