Would repeal EPA coal plant pollution rule
If enacted, this bill would cancel an EPA air toxics rule for coal- and oil-fired power plants published May 7, 2024 (89 Fed. Reg. 38508). That rule would have no force and would be treated as if it never took effect, with these changes effective upon enactment. Plant owners would no longer need to meet those specific emission standards. This could lower compliance costs for those companies. It could also reduce air-quality and public-health protections for people near or downwind.
