Possible U.S. sanctions on Polisario Front

This bill would push the U.S. to consider sanctions on the Polisario Front. Within 90 days, the Secretary of State would say if Polisario meets the test to be named a foreign terrorist organization. Within 90 days, the Treasury Secretary would decide if Polisario meets criteria for sanctions under Executive Order 13224. Within 180 days, the State Department would report to Congress on Polisario's leaders and military actions. It would also describe foreign support and ties to Iran, Russia, Hezbollah, the IRGC, and the PKK. The President could waive the sanctions if he finds Polisario is negotiating in good faith. The waiver would require progress toward implementing Morocco's 2007 autonomy plan for Western Sahara. Decisions must be unclassified but may include a classified annex.
