Equal Shot Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Representative Rep. Williams, Roger [R-TX-25]
Introduced
Summary
Prevents SBA discrimination against firearm-related applicants for loans and loan guarantees. The Equal Shot Act of 2025 would stop the Small Business Administration (SBA) from adopting any policy, practice, guidance, or directive that treats otherwise eligible applicants differently solely because they are a firearm entity, a firearm entity affiliate, or a firearm trade association. The bill defines those three categories to determine who is covered.

No SBA discrimination against firearm businesses
This bill would bar the Small Business Administration (SBA) from using policies that deny help solely because an applicant is firearm‑related. It would apply to otherwise eligible applicants for SBA loans and loan guarantees. Covered groups would include firearm makers and sellers, their affiliates like shooting ranges and instructors, and their trade associations. The bill’s definitions state that parts, ammo, and common accessories are included. This would not require SBA to approve any loan or change other eligibility rules.
